Prov 3:6: in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
To be acknowledged for something good you have done is something that makes us feel important, valued, or honored. Most of us fall into a trap of working an extra effort just to be acknowledged and to be accepted by our circle. We want to feel special that people may see and recognize our good qualities and strengths. The danger here is that we get our value from what people say about us, and so we do things to please others. What’s more alarming, many believers in the ministry want to see the value of their labor from the recognition of co-believers. And when not acknowledge, they get dismayed and are tempted to give less to God; less of time, efforts, resources, and even restraining the use of their gifts.
Why acknowledgement does seems to be a big issue? Because it feeds your ego. It feeds your pride.
Let’s clear these things up, what does the Bible says about us? To enumerate a few:
1. We are made of dust (Genesis 3:19)
2. We are all sinners (Romans 3:23)
3. None of us is righteous, not even one (Romans 3:10)
4. We were by nature children of wrath (Ephesians 2:3)
See! Looking at this very nature of man, what else should we deserve? Even so, God allowed His very own Son to die a painful death on the cross for our salvation. Is this something amazing? Yes it is! He was mocked by men, they even spat on Him, and they shouted, “Crucify Him!” But… God loves us so much. And, He endured all these things.
WE ARE LOVED by God! That’s the most important message to every one of us. This is our identity in Christ!
If you want that God will make your path straight, acknowledge Him. The very strength you have to accomplish your dreams and desires; the skills and abilities you have to outstand on a particular field; the intelligence you gained from studying hard; and for all the good works that were accomplished – it is because of the power of God working in you. Do not grab the glory that is due to Him. He alone deserves it!

Is there something you want to give thanks to God right now? There’s a lot if you just count your blessings and name them one by one.
